Connect Ears
Ears is an MCP server: https://useears.com/mcp. You sign in once; the assistant then calls it when you ask for a transcript.
Claude (claude.ai, Desktop, Cowork)
- Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- URL:
https://useears.com/mcp - Connect, then choose Create a free account. Save the recovery key you are shown.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http ears https://useears.com/mcp
Then run /mcp and authenticate. With a key instead: add --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY".
ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex and others
Add a custom MCP connector with the same URL. Clients that cannot sign in can send your key in an Authorization: Bearer header.
Using it
- A file at a link: the link must go straight to the file. Try our sample:
https://useears.com/sample.wav. - A file on your computer (Claude Code, Cowork): ask the assistant to transcribe the file; it requests a 15-minute upload command and runs it.
- Subtitles: ask for SRT subtitles. By default you get the text only, which keeps responses short.
- Big files: the limit is 25 MB per call. Compress long recordings first:
ffmpeg -i in.mp4 -vn -ac 1 -ar 16000 -b:a 32k out.mp3(about 100 minutes per 25 MB).
Three things to try
- "Transcribe https://useears.com/sample.wav and tell me who should receive the report."
- "Transcribe this meeting recording [link] and list the decisions and the action items with owners."
- "Give me SRT subtitles for this talk [link]."
Ears only processes the file you point to. It never reads your conversation, your memory or the files attached to the chat.
Prices
1 credit = $0.01 = 1 minute of audio, rounded up per file, minimum 1 credit. Failed transcriptions are not charged. New accounts get 30 free credits.
